The HIKI Framework
A working framework, not a workshop.
The ʻĀina Education Framework gives schools a shared language across three coherent domains — People, Practices, and Policies — grounded in Nā Hopena Aʻo (HĀ). It is not a cultural add-on. It is the foundation.
People
Educator and leader development that builds capacity in the adults who shape how learning feels.
Practices
Place-based pedagogy grounded in the PIKO Process at Waikalua Loko Iʻa.
Policies
Structures, schedules, and accountability systems that protect the practice over time.
Experience & Expertise in Hawaiʻi
Deep roots, lasting practice.
30+ years
Of Pacific American Foundation community work across the Hawaiian Islands.
HIDOE-approved
Professional development delivered across multiple vendor lists, an established presence in Hawaiʻi schools.
Active partnerships
With Hawaiian-focused charter schools and complex areas across the state.
Waikalua Loko Iʻa
A living learning laboratory on Oʻahu that anchors our practice in place.
HIKI is led by educators with deep roots in Hawaiʻi's public, charter, and private schools. Our team has decades of combined experience designing place-based learning, building administrator capacity, and supporting Hawaiian-focused schools.
How Schools Contract With HIKI

Scoping call
A free 30-minute call to understand your school's context, calendar, and priorities. Open to principals, district leaders, and program leads.
Proposal
We send a written scope with sessions, deliverables, dates, and pricing. Built to align with Title funds, foundation grants, or operating budgets.
